A New Church man who slashed the tire of his car and cut a repo man who had come to repossess the vehicle pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding in Accomack County court.
Carlos Wise, 38, was in court Thursday to face a felony charge of malicious wounding in connection with the incident in June. A sentencing date was not set.
Wise became infuriated when he saw two men who came to his house with a truck to take his car away on June 13, the court heard.
As they started to hook his car to their truck, Wise came out of his house and tried to get into the vehicle, Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Elizabeth Wolfe told the court.
She said the men told him he would be able to retrieve his belongings once they got it hooked up.
“If you want to take my car, take my car, but I will slash the tires first,” Wolfe said Wise told them.
